Guests spending time at Salt Creek Beach in Dana Point, California now have a place to grab breakfast, lunch or drinks with an ocean view. The Ranch at Laguna Beach recently opened Young’s Beach Shack, an outdoor beach cafe that serves locally sourced, coastal cuisine, seven craft beers and an approachable wine program. Patrons can enjoy the park’s variety of beach activities while savoring healthy and classic beach fare.

It is The Ranch at Laguna Beach’s second beachside restaurant, following the opening of Lost Pier Cafe, an oceanfront café on Aliso Beach offering coastal and artistically curated bites. Menu items include things like Smoked Bacon Breakfast Burrito, Strawberry French Toast, Wagyu Beef Hot Dog, Poke Bowl and Fried Apple Pie. With the culinary expertise of Executive Chef Kyle St. John, Young’s Beach Shack serves fresh seafood, comfort foods, and beach picnic provisions, all with emphasis on sustainable ingredients. Overlooking Salt Creek Beach, the restaurant also manages the operations and catering services for the park’s private event space.
A nod to the region’s heritage, the name is from the original Young’s Beach Camp at Salt Creek Beach. First built in 1928, Young’s Beach Camp originally charged a quarter for daily beach admission to what is now Salt Creek Beach. The updated establishment acknowledges the location’s history with an architectural design that embraces the natural beauty and unique attributes of Dana Point.
Young’s Beach Shack is located at 33521 Ritz Carlton Drive in Dana Point, California inside Salt Creek County Beach, and will be open from 7:00 am to Sunset daily. Parking is available for $1/hour. It is not handicap accessible.
